Mindfulness Meditation Courses

This open group course takes place in beautiful Loveland, Ohio in Grailville (www.grailville.org) It is 7 weeks which includes an all day retreat that will give you 20 plus hours of instruction, practice and a great deal of peace learning the foundations of Mindfulness, Stress Reduction, Meditation and more.

Learn how stress affects you and how to counteract the effects of stress either in private sessions or in a group. We teach proven to work mind/body techniques to improve responses to stress, improving physiological responses as well as emotional well-being. Examples of mind/body stress reduction are the renowned Relaxation Response, Heart Coherence and Meditation. Julie has trained with Herbert Benson’s Mind/Body Clinic at Harvard Medical School. Benson discovered where in the brain the Relaxation Response is triggered and exactly what is needed to ellicit this response. Her training, experience and ways of teaching allow everyone to easily understand and ellicit this response. Her studies in Meditation and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction bring the latest information and are taught in easy to learn and time tested approaches.

Meditation, Mindfulness and MBSR

It has been studied and shown that education in and the practice of Mindfulness and Meditation can improve stress symptoms, depression, anxiety, many physical problems and add to overall health and wellness
Learn different skills to a more serene mind and calm life. Although a daily practice of meditation or conscious relaxation, will offer the most long term benefits, even some basic centering skills, breathing and relaxation techniques or the use of guided imagery or affirmations can positively affect the body and mind. We recommend our Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) classes for a comprehensive and life changing approach to stress. This program is taught world-wide for stress reduction and other health issues. It can be found in many hospitals. Julie’s program includes all aspects of the original MBSR program including all day retreats, yoga, homework and a great deal of practice. Her training with the programs developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and her personal involvement with meditation and silent retreats create a perfect background of experience to lead these groups. Mindful Eating has been studied for the past 20 years as a possible solution to eating problems, disorders, losing weight and overall health. It is now taught around the country. It is not about dieting but about awareness and allows for a different awareness about one’s relationship with food. We offer workshops or individual instruction.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is described as moment to moment awareness without judgement… or living in the present. Our simple approach to teaching the practice of Mindfulness can have a huge impact on the relationship to stress and improve the quality and appreciation of life. Privately or in a group, we offer 4-8 week programs, seminars, retreats and sessions to cover the foundations of mindfulness, incorporate practice and even offer weekly assignments for the serious student.
The group programs are offered to the public in the Cincinnati area. Businesses can have their own programs developed to their specific needs.
Mindfulness can change a person’s outlook overnight, creating the opportunity for better relationships, a better outlook and a feeling of happiness.

Craniosacral Therapy

A unique and powerful hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the body, mind and spirit.  The practioner works with the a certain physiological (body)system, called the craniosacral system, to release restrictions to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. The client usually experiences a deep state of relaxation and well being along with physical changes. The body truly knows how to heal itself when we can get the body systems to relax. With a gentle touch, the practioner does just that: relaxes the body systems. TMJ, Headaches, Sciatica, are common physical problems that respond well to this therapy. We have had excellent results in helping to assist with emotional well-being as the body and mind calm. This is a great therapy to use with other Mind/Body work.
